Rakshabandhan is a popular Hindu festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. It involves the sister tying a rakhi (sacred thread) around her brother’s wrist while praying for his well-being, and in return, the brother offers gifts or blessings to his sister. The sweets, especially laddoos, barfis, or kheer, are a vital part of the celebration, as they are offered to the brother and sometimes to the family members after the rakhi is tied. Fruits, particularly those like bananas, apples, or pomegranates, are also included in the puja kit as offerings to the deities, symbolizing prosperity and blessings. Betel leaves and betel nuts are part of the kit, representing respect and good wishes for the brother.

Additionally, the kit might include holy water (Ganga jal) for sprinkling during the ceremony, purifying the space and the participants. A mouli (sacred thread) is often included to tie around the brother’s wrist or used in various parts of the ritual to invoke blessings and protection. Finally, if a prayer or a specific mantra is recited during the ceremony, the kit may also contain small prayer books or scriptures to aid in the recitation. This carefully curated kit ensures that the Rakshabandhan puja is performed with the appropriate rituals, ensuring that the bond between siblings is strengthened and blessed by the divine.
