RAHU POOJA SAMAGRI KIT

Rahu Puja Samagri: Essential Items for Rahu Dosha Nivaran

Rahu Puja is a sacred Hindu ritual performed to appease the celestial planet Rahu, which is believed to influence an individual’s fate, health, and prosperity. Rahu, although not a physical planet but a shadowy celestial entity, is known to bring obstacles, confusion, and misfortune when it is malefic in one’s horoscope. The purpose of performing Rahu Puja is to pacify its negative effects, especially in cases of Rahu Dosha, and to bring peace, success, and spiritual growth. The Rahu Puja samagri (ritual items) used during this puja are carefully selected to ensure the ceremony is performed with the right energy and devotion.

The primary item used in Rahu Puja is a clean, sacred puja thali (plate), which holds all the ritual offerings. Rahu Yantra is often placed in the center of the thali, representing the planet Rahu. This yantra is a geometric diagram that is said to have the power to reduce Rahu’s malefic effects. The idol or image of Lord Ketu may also be placed along with the yantra, as Rahu and Ketu are considered to be interconnected. Black sesame seeds are one of the most essential items in Rahu Puja, as they are considered sacred and are used for making offerings to Rahu. These seeds are believed to help absorb the negative influences of Rahu.

Incense sticks (agarbattis) and camphor are lit to purify the space and invoke positive energies. The fragrant smoke from incense and camphor is believed to cleanse the atmosphere of any malefic forces. A diya (lamp) with ghee or oil is placed to symbolize light overcoming darkness, both literally and metaphorically. Black cloth is used to cover the Rahu Yantra, as it is said to calm Rahu’s aggressive nature and bring peace.

In addition, roli, chawal (rice), and kumkum are used for applying tilak during the puja. The rice grains symbolize prosperity, while roli and kumkum are used for auspicious blessings. Fruits and sweets like laddus are offered to the deity as prashad, representing abundance and gratitude. Water is offered to the yantra, which is believed to purify the energies during the ritual.

Finally, black dogs or black clothes are sometimes offered to symbolize appeasement of Rahu, as Rahu is often associated with the color black and considered to be pacified by black-colored items. The recitation of mantras such as the Rahu Stotra or Rahu Beej Mantra is integral to the puja, invoking divine blessings and ensuring Rahu’s wrath is alleviated. With the proper Rahu Puja Samagri, the ritual ensures the individual is relieved of Rahu’s negative influences and is blessed with peace and prosperity.
